Streams and mountains of Zizurkil

From the village square, go up the road towards the Abeletxe hostel and restaurant, continuing on to the Azkarate farmhouse. We continue ascending along the track and pass between the Zárate inn and the Olentzo-Etxeberri farmhouse. There is a small car park in the high part of the heathland and a dirt track to the right, a former livestock track. Following it, we pass by the dolmen of "Zarateko Benta" and the Aizkuitzeta farmhouse, from where we descend to the Basopeta recreational area.

Go down the track and at the first crossroads next to a beautiful beech tree, turn right. From here, on the left, we descend to the Pagoa farmhouse and continue down to the bridge that crosses the Zubiaurretxo stream, which we cross and then climb up to the Saizar and Iola farmhouses. We continue to the hermitage of San Miguel and return by road to the square of Zizurkil.
