Uli’s Way

The area of Uli has been of great importance throughout history, where one of the main roads linking Navarre and Gipuzkoa used to pass. Today there is a shelter and an elegant fountain.

Leave the village square on the left as far as the parish house. Turn right and when you reach the school, take the path on the left as far as the Ugalde farmhouse, cross the bridge next to the farmhouse and continue along the track on the right-hand side as far as the Zuikin farmhouse. Continue along the path that climbs up through the forest, a mixed forest where chestnut trees predominate. At the end of the slope on the left hand side we will see the hermitage of San Sebastián. Then turn right and enter a beech forest; a little further on you will see larch trees. We leave the Juangoena hut and hut behind us and from there we leave for Lizartoki. From Lizartoki, once you have passed the Ameriko hut, you will come to a place where on the left is the crossroads to go to Areso and Gorriti, and on the right is the Uli recreation park. Turn right towards Gaztelu until you reach Iñarra. Take the path that leads off to the right from Iñarra and go down to the Elduain canal. Continue ahead, passing an old hydroelectric power station and the Arrate mill.
