A unique museum in Europe
In the historic center of Tolosa, TOPIC is the only comprehensive center dedicated to puppets in Europe. The House of Puppets, where you will meet puppets from all over the world and learn a lot about this ancient art, is an ideal place to go as a family.

In addition to a permanent exhibition, the museum hosts other traveling exhibitions, courses and workshops, a documentary center, and shows of all kind.
More than 1,800 puppets
TOPIC has an outstanding collection of puppets from all over the world and different manipulation techniques. The sample of Asian countries stands out above all. Together, they reach the figure of 1,850 dolls, the result of donations from individuals and companies that have passed through Tolosa.
Works with a lot of history
Most of the creations exhibited in the TOPIC are from the second half of the twentieth century, although it also highlights a collection of Chinese shadows of the eighteenth and nineteenth century, or also Chinese thread ones of the nineteenth century.
Two types of exhibitions
TOPIC programs temporary exhibitions, which, in a monographic way, aim to open new windows to particular aspects of the puppet universe.
From King Kong to Mariona
The museum is guarded by a great King Kong, creation for the Carnival of Iñaki Goikoetxea. Another of the outstanding works is Mariona, the host of the Museum, which will open the way to a world full of magic, mirrors, games of lights.
About the history of the building
Before becoming the Puppet Museum, the TOPIC building was the Courthouse. It was even a prison, both in the nineteenth century and through the Civil War.

Titirijai, the puppet festival
It is the International Puppet Festival of Tolosa, which is held at the end of November. It has four decades of experience. The program includes indoor or street shows, workshops, exhibitions or talks.
