Tolosaldea’s Ostatus

Five ways of doing it

Ostatus of Tolosaldea, the flavour of small villages

Not all small towns are the same, but there is one thing they have in common, or rather one place better said: the ostatu. It is often located in the town hall itself, near the main square of the village, and is the centre of local social life.

Tolosako Azoka

There are five ostatus participating in the region's enogastronomy club

Hernialdeko Ostatua, Orexako Ostatua, Altzoko Ostatua, Alkizako Ostatua and Zirta, Larraulgo Ostatua.

Getting together with family and friends, enjoying good meals, organising special celebrations, doing last-minute shopping, taking part in cultural activities… The ostatus fulfil many functions in the small towns in Tolosaldea. And the fact is that, in order to bring the town to life, the citizens have to have a place to meet. And this often happens in the ostatu.

Wide choice on the table

Some are completely renovated, others maintain the essence of the restaurants of yesteryear. Special menus, menus of the day, small shops selling local products, rooms… What each of them has to offer is different, but all of them provide locals and visitors with an offer that is worth getting to know.
