Tolosa Market has been taking place every Saturday for over seven centuries. The Navarre, Castile and France roads would meet in Tolosa, making it a commercial centre. Since 1256 it has a strong social and cultural impact: a market day is a very active day: shopping, walking, bar crawling… It’s a full Saturday activity.

Farmhouseproducts
Most of the products sold at the market are grown in gardens of the farmhouses in the area. Local products bought directly from the producers.
Typicalproducts
The main products are part of Tolosaldea’s identity: Tolosa Beans or Ibarra Peppers. You will also find Idiazabal cheese, as well as dairy products, mushrooms, Errezil Apples, bread, sponge cake, all kinds of vegetables…
Addedvalue
Visiting the market is an experience with added value. It’s closeness, sharing tips and talks with the producers. And also learning about the products and their work first hand.

Three market spaces
Tolosa Market is currently divided in three different places in the Old Quarter, just a few metres from each other:
Tinglado
The most important site, where most of the stands are located. Tinglado building, Zerkausia in Basque, was built over the former wall. The current building is from 1898, being one of the first of this style in Gipuzkoa.
Verdurasquare
Here we can find saplings, plants, flowers and vegetables. With a crystal and iron cover, it was built in 1899. On both sides, over each of the arches, we can see the numbered former stands of merchants and sellers.
EuskalHerriasquare
In this part of the market we will find foreign products, textile products and others, such as cold meats, picklesor sweets, among others. It was the town’s first expansion area outside the Old Quarter, built in the 19th century.
