Tolosaldea is, without a doubt, one of the gastronomic hearts of Euskadi. Both for the fair that is held every Saturday, and for the gastronomic products that characterize us, for the gastronomic knowledge preserved and transmitted in the kitchens of the farmhouses, for agriculture, livestock, for hospitality professionals… The reason is not one and only, surely Tolosaldea maintains its gastronomic value by combining many of these circumstances.
Tolosa, as the capital of the region, hosts the most important weekly fair (not the only one) and the center of commerce. For this reason, it organizes special fairs around our star products in autumn. These fairs not only attract a large local audience, but also attract many visitors. Since they all combine, a special product fair, some children’s activities, some tasting areas and the great atmosphere on Saturdays that Tolosa always offers.
Sweets, dairy products, beans and Christmas delicacies will occupy the square in the coming months, here are the dates, more information of interest so that you can write them down in your diary and pay us a visit.
TOLOSA GOXUA. October 28
This year the sweetest fair in Tolosa turns 30. At this party, the pastry chefs from Tolosa act as hosts, since pastry chefs from all over the Basque Country come. Every year they choose a sweet as the protagonist and this year, in this 30th edition it will be the Pantxineta.
This day, in addition to the Saturday fair, you will find a special sweets market in the Plaza del Triángulo, bakers from Tolosa will prepare pantxinetas in the plaza and distribute them among the locals, a baking workshop for children… The songs of “Tolosa kantari” will liven up the streets of Tolosa with Basque songs.

ESNEKI. November 3-4
This will be the second edition of Esneki. A special fair dedicated to the different cheeses and dairy products that are produced in the Basque Country beyond Idiazabal cheese (which is also included of course).
In addition to being a meeting point for the sector, a large dairy fair for those who visit Tolosa, the Euskal Herria cheese championship, activities for families, guided cheese tastings, Friesian cow championship…

TOLOSA BEANS DAY. November 18th
This is one of the big days in Tolosa. Day to get together in teams and families, a holiday to highlight this wonderful product. At the special fair, in addition to the bean, you will find all the products that we will need to accompany a bean, the contest for the best bean producer and the bean gastronomic contest are also held and of course, the Basque festival.
You will see many Tolosarras dressed in traditional Basque costumes and they will all have beans at midday. If you are coming, book your bean as soon as possible, so you don’t run out of space.

EXTRAORDINARY CHRISTMAS MARKET. December 16
Close to the winter solstice and when the year is about to end, this fair arrives. We Basques celebrate everything around the table and this fair is to fill your Christmas table with delicacies and spectacular products. Quality products and you will surely also find something you have never tried before.
