AMALUR 2025 – Nature, travel and anthropology
Amalur Spirit
«The roads of the world are a school where the spirit is tempered and tolerance and solidarity are strengthened. We learn to give and receive, to keep the doors of the house and the spirit open, and above all to share. We learn to enjoy the little, to value what we have, to be happy in austerity and to celebrate abundance. We learn to listen and to look and we also learn to love.
Young people from countries of abundance should dedicate a year of their lives, before family or professional obligations leave them tied forever, to travel the roads of the world, from city to city, from town to town, with a backpack on their back.
They would lose a year in the race for success – what is a year! – but they would win as people because their horizons would be broadened, often reduced to getting one more tenth in an exam, and the world would win.»
Text by Ana Mª Briongos taken from Negro sobre negro. Irán, cuadernos de viaje, which reflects what the Amalur spirit aims to be.
