The Tolosa Carnival is the most important festival of the year for the people of Tolosa and also for many visitors.
The chupinazo from the Plaza Zaharra on Fat Thursday kicks off the festivities, on a day when the chilabas, charangas and txistorra pintxos reign supreme.
After Thin Friday, with the festival of the group Arpegi, comes Carnival Saturday, a day on which the little ones enjoy different events such as the tamborrada or the giants and big-heads.
Carnival Sunday is the first of the three most powerful days of the Tolosa Carnival. Being the first day of costumes, it starts early in the morning with the Diana, and during the morning the parade is held through the streets of the town.
On Carnival Monday, the main protagonist is the parade by the leisure time and youth groups. Carnival Tuesday, despite being the last day of the festival, is the early bird day, with both the alborada and the ‘toro del aguardiente’. During the morning, the parades takes place.
Tickets to enter the bullring during the carnival will go on sale on February 18th from 4:00 p.m. Most tickets will be sold online, on the bibe.me portal. As has been the case in recent years, some tickets for each day will be made available at the bullring box office. In response to requests made in the evaluations and surveys last year, a greater number of tickets will be allocated to the box office – until now 5% of daytime tickets were allocated –. The opening hours of the box office, however, will change, and instead of waiting until midday, it will open at 10:30 a.m., until the tickets are sold out.
