Tolosa Market

Almost 8 centuries of history

Tolosa Market is one of the most important ones in Euskadi

Tolosa Market has been taking place every Saturday for over seven centuries. The Navarre, Castile and France roads would meet in Tolosa, making it a commercial centre. Since 1256 it has a strong social and cultural impact: a market day is a very active day: shopping, walking, bar crawling… It’s a full Saturday activity.

Farmhouse products

Most of the products sold at the market are grown in gardens of the farmhouses in the area. Local products bought directly from the producers.

Here we can find saplings, plants, flowers and vegetables. With a crystal and iron cover, it was built in 1899. On both sides, over each of the arches, we can see the numbered former stands of merchants and sellers.
