In fact, the Orexa ostatu is one of the pillars of the locality and is in contact at all times with the rest of the social agents. In addition to the catering service that they offer on a permanent basis, they manage the accommodation as a service to the citizens, and during the week they use the room located in the upper part of the restaurant as a space for sports, conferences and other activities.




Historically, Orexa has been linked to the primary sector, surrounded by farmhouses, mountains and pastures. And this can be seen in the menu, which is largely made up of local foods; without being a specialised restaurant, there are dishes and recipes that deserve to be tasted especially there.

The risotto is made with blue cheese from Orexa, from the Oihan Txiki cooperative. This dish, which brings the flavour of traditional cheeses up to date, is one of the most popular dishes.

Orexa’s roast lamb is also very successful. And it is special, different, because it is made with Sasiardi sheep. This type of sheep is usually used to clear the mountains. It is almost a goat, a hybrid of the two species. It is an autochthonous breed, like the latxa sheep, but wilder.

The desserts are also home-made. Crème caramel, rice pudding, curd, yoghurt, fruit compote… and Orexa cheese board, of course. Orexa Idiazabal natural cheese, Orexa Idiazabal smoked cheese, Orexa Anakar cheese, Orexa blue cheese and Orexa Otzara cheese, all on a single plate.
