Nicolás Ruiz, is the name to be remenbered as the man behind the establishment of this venue. After leaving his peculiar Bar Montetxe, which was well known by neighbours and businesses in Arramele neighbourhood, he and his wife Pepita Elizondo founded Asador Casa Nicolás in 1960.
There, they took the first steps of a journey that has seen them being recognised for their good work. Their son Pedro Maria Ruiz Elizondo followed in their footsteps from a very early age, until he took up the baton, he knew how to reflect what he had learnt perfectly, to the point that today everybody knows the Asador Casa Nicolás as the holy temple of the “chuletón”.
Currently, after 30 years, Pedro and his wife Maixa Ochoteco manage the business together with their loyal maitre Josune Zubeldia.
There is something more to be mentioned, Xabier, raised among the stoves, is the promising third generation of “parrilleros”. He is actually part of the staff and ensures many more years of good work
