El 1994 es va publicar per primera vegada la novel·la "Kutsidazu bidea, Ixabel". El jove donostiarra Juan Martín ve a Alkiza a millorar l'èuscar que està aprenent a l'euskaltegi. Viu en un caseriu d'Hernialde. Juan Martín se sent estrany entre els indígenes d´aquests paratges.

El basc dels nadius li sembla una mena de swahili, estranyes les labors del caseriu i salvatges els costums.

En aquest llibre escrit per Joxean Sagastizabal ens explica anècdotes del protagonista amb una escriptura plena d'humor. Juan Martín va cada dia a Alkiza a rebre classes d'euskara pel sender que Ixabel li "ensenya" i et proposem que ho facis tu també.
